The story behind the design
How Cranes at Dusk came to be
Yuki painted this after a winter evening on the Kushiro marshes, watching red-crowned cranes settle in the last light. Each bird was sketched from life in ink first, then layered with washes of teal until the paper felt as cold and quiet as the evening itself.
